Herbert and Emily Habacon are currently serving in Iloilo City, Philippines. Emily moved to Iloilo City in 2014, after completing the Global Missions Major at Christ For the Nations Institute. She began serving full-time at the Camp Sonshine Center, working with the youth leadership development and coordinating the program and curriculum for Kid’s Clubs.
Herbert grew up in the Philippines, ministering in the International House of Prayer in his home town and served on the worship team in his church. His passion is for worship, creative arts, and community development. They met in 2014 in Iloilo while he was serving as a worship leader at a local church. In that season, they discovered their similar callings in God and heart for the nations. They married in October of 2017.
Emily has continued to serve at the Camp Sonshine Center, working with the youth and children, but also began working with the Missionary Kids on the Go To Nations team in Iloilo in 2018. In the spring of 2020, she joined the Go To Nations Member Care team to begin championing the needs and concerns of Missionary Kids and to help build healthy missionary families.
Herbert served alongside a fellow Go To Nations missionary for a time to build a farm to further community development and discipleship among one of the poorest areas of Iloilo City. Since that project ended, he has been learning from other agriculturists and working toward building a new farm where he and Emily can begin discipling Filipino communities, training Filipinos and missionaries in natural farming and aquaponics, and provide a place for missionaries to receive refreshment and healing.
